Independence makes all the difference

Every day, another lie from MCEA. The latest: that UTMC is just the Freedom Foundation in disguise. This is ridiculous! 

You know us. We are your colleagues and we have been working by your side for years. Before we founded UTMC, we started by trying to change MCEA from the inside because we believe teachers deserve better but sadly, MCEA is too far gone and we’ve been left with no choice but to start fresh. 

Unlike MCEA, which takes its orders from and sends most of your money to Tallahassee and Washington DC, the United Teachers of Martin County is an independent organization started by teachers like you with the sole purpose of advocating for you. Your needs should never come second to someone else’s agenda. 

With UTMC, you’ll have a union you can count on. Your dues will stay local and be put to work for you. You’ll get a real attorney for contract negotiations to make sure teachers get the best possible insurance, raises, and other benefits. You’ll have a voice in policies that affect your classroom. There will be no more distractions from what matters most: you!
