MCEA is tone deaf and out of touch

We've got to hand it to MCEA - we thought they couldn't possibly be any more out of touch but they have outdone themselves this time!

You might have seen this poster touting their "successes" at your school today:

This isn't a list of successes. These are some of MCEA's greatest failures.

Let's go down the list:

Your contract ensures - we don't have an active contract! We haven't had one for nearly two full school years. That is unacceptable.

More money back in your pocket - teachers in Martin County are suffering a net loss in their paychecks with ever-increasing insurance costs while MCEA does nothing to push back. Combine this with a rise in MCEA dues and ask yourself, "is that really money well spent?"

Share your voice - MCEA regularly silences members who raise concerns and ignores pleas from teachers asking them to do their job and advocate for better pay and lower insurance costs.

Elimination of a time clock - well, guess what came back today? And where is the union? Apparently, they're busy throwing a fit that you finally have a real choice in your representation now.

Did you know that over half your dues don't even stay local? That's right, for every dollar MCEA takes from your paycheck, they send over half to Tallahassee and Washington DC.

The United Teachers of Martin County understands the issues facing teachers in Martin County because we are teachers in Martin County, just like you.

It's time to bring in a real union, by teachers and for teachers.

Vote United Teachers of Martin County!
